Chicago: Navy Pier

IMG_7464

Oops! Where does time go? I never posted about my last day in Chicago and that was about a week ago. Since then I have been working a lot, going through recruitment workshops with my sorority, and spending extra time with friends as school starts in less than a week!

On our last day, we went to Navy Pier. The combination of beach and skyscrapers was breathtaking. I belong in the city life but I also absolutely love sun and sand.

I just threw on this little white lace dress for easy dressing. It's probably my favorite dress in my closet. I'm always looking for dresses with a longer sleeve and I am so drawn to lace.

My last meal was at Local Root and right before I went to the airport I did speed shopping on Magnificent Mile.

I had such a great time in Chicago and I know I'll be back again, at least for Lollapalooza anyway!

Chicago: Millenium Park

And the Chicago adventures continues...

We went to Millenium Park to explore and first went to "The Bean". To be honest, I don't really get it, but I like it.

Buckingham Fountain was beautiful. The huge space was clear of people and on such a nice sunny day, it was definitely movie-esque.

I wore this floral maxi skirt I found at Wasteland. It hit just at the right spot which is hard to find for someone so petite like me so I knew it was a win! I also love how swingy it is to add shape.

At Boeing North Gallery, I was obsessed with the work of Jun Kaneko. There were so many of these adorable gopher-like sculptures painted in such bright and whimsical patterns.

Thank God for this pond during our walk to dip our feet in because we did a lot of walking and were definitely breaking a sweat in the humid weather.

I didn't blog everyday but we are here for five days and tomorrow is my last! I really enjoyed my time here but I'm also excited to go back to The Bay and get back to school.

Chicago: Willis Tower, Near West Side

I arrived in Chicago on Monday afternoon. No, I wish I was there for Lollapalooza but my sister is moving here for school so my family and I came to help her move in.

We went to see the Willis Tower. Up the 103 floors we went to see the view from the skydeck. Absolutely mesmerizing.

I opted for a simple outfit with my comfiest walking shoes. I had to wake up at 3am to make it in time for my flight earlier so easy and comfortable were the only things I had in mind.

And of course, when in Chicago, pizza is absolutely necessary. I went to Toni's Pizza & Pasta and had this delicious slice of spinach stuffed pizza topped with mushrooms. Yum!

To Dance the Night Away!

IMG_3471

The last two posts have been looks for work. So introducing: Christina by night. I often find my feet getting completely crushed when I go out from people stepping on them so wore my sturdy boots. Then, mixed with a fun printed legging, white crop top, and denim button down that acted as a light jacket, I felt golden and ready to dance the night away!

Floral Pants

Forever 21 top, H&M pants, Via Spiga shoes

Seems like the printed pant trend is going nowhere. Of course, my favorite is floral. Pair it with a solid top and the pants will righteously steal the spotlight.

P.S. Sorry I look dead in the eyes. I sure did feel dead this morning. Thanks Thursday night.

Easy Dressing

When in doubt, a button-up never seems to do me wrong. Add black pants and heels to the formula and suddenly it's like I actually put effort into dressing myself that morning. Bonus? I snagged this blouse from Cotton On for $15. Now that has a pleasant ring to my girl-on-a-college-budget ears.
